Bit of street date smashing going on it seems - Brütal Legend is out at EB two days early for $109.95. At least EB Toowong have it and were quite happy to sell it to me if I wanted.

Think I'll wait until other stores have it and can play the price match game.

I think it was out at JB Carindale. Went in to pre order uncharted 2 and saw some copies of brutal legend.

Ecogamer have a bunch of people saying that they've seen it in JB for $89. No sightings at Target/KMart though (So I can use one of the gift card thingies work gave me!)..

This might just be PS3 fanboi crap I heard a while back, but isn't the official Microsoft RRP for 3rd party titles $119.95?

Because the Illuminati says so.

Seriously however? The normal excuse given is that the Australian prices are based on pricing from the EU marketplace.

Nope, RRP is $109.95 on PS3 and 360. Publishers say it costs too much to develop games this generation so they charge more.

The norm is $100~, gamers are willing to pay that much, therefore companies will see that much. It's not like the games are produced in America, then imported into Australia, therefore they should be THIS MUCH!!!!! Stop trying to compare it to food or women.

Games cost so much because of greed.

The local marketing/sales guys (MD's included) are all bonus hunting, and the easiest way to ensure that is to take advantage of a high AU$, charge the same retail price as usual despite a lower input cost, then crow about it to whatever head office they report in to. For them the practical result is a bonus, a trip to whatever conference is on in some far flung city, or even a promotion.

Hooray for capitalism!

$110? you've got to be kidding me...

sendit.com have it for 37 pounds, which is like $65 ffs.

Are you telling me you can't wait 1 week to get a game for almost half the price of what you pay for it here ripp off land?

No wonder why places like EB charge so much.

Imbeciles!

So, for anyone else playing, how the f*** do you do the power slide? The game is awesome, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do the power slide move. The in-game instructions just say press X while you're running, but that just shoots the lightning out of my guitar, no power slide :(

I thought most X360 games were region locked? Or are we in the same region as the UK for games and stuff?
