FOX FOOTY Channel fans shafted by 7
It seems Foxtels promises of All games in HD has become 5 games in HD.
Channel 7 is using HD Recording Vans but only recording the games in SD as they are being shown on channel 7s main channel, then giving that SD version to Foxtel who then has to upscale it. Apparently Foxtel announced this the day before the first Premiership game. A lot of Fans are angry and threatening to leave Foxtel but Foxtel says its out of their hands because Channel 7 are responsible for the Telecast of their 4 games. Channel 9 records all its games in HD which allows us Foxtel HD viewers to see every game in HD (though 9s games are delayed). Surely The AFL has to step in and fix this. Its an appalling slap in the face to the true AFL Fans that pay a premium to see their games in HD ? Why are FreeToAir networks screwing over fans ? Whats the point of Locking up Sport when the Fans have to endure sub-standard telecasts ? If the Sport has so much Cultural significance that it has to be available to all then it should be shown on the HD channel too. |

It sucks because foxtel have heavily advertised all AFL games in HD this season. So they could have grounds to do something about it, since channel 7 has dodged it up.
The way the broadcasting rights work in the AFL though means only seven have the rights to film it, its a stupid system. |

More dramas with the combined telecast, Foxtel is claiming Channel 7 Commentators arent talking after a goal which is because of Ads on 7.

AFL. lol, if this was league i could understand people getting excited but arent AFL fans mainly limited to Vic? Completely wrong. VIC, WA, SA, Tasmania and QLD. In fact AFL actually reaches more states than NRL does. Both codes have good support in the country in one way or another. So not sure if you are just trolling/baiting or just being an ignorant d***. |
