good tattoo places?
Anyone know a good place where I can take in some designs and they can draw up a nice pic? I emailed some dude in the US about a month ago about doing up a design but I haven't heard back so I guess he's not interested. LOL.

Most tattoo shops with design you something if you take a few things in to reference off, the clearer you explain what you want the closer you will get to what you want..
They will charge you to design something up even if you decided not to get it, some places you might be able to convince them to design it and if its good you will pay for the design and to get it done... but that will depend on how desperate they are and how much time they have... or if you have a good report with them and had plenty of work done before. Some places will refuse todo what you want if they dont like the sound of it.. aka to complicated and messy, a terrible idea, as an example i wanted to get my fiances name tattoo'd on my hip, one place refused todo it, another place wanted me to pay a s***load for it, finally find a place though that did it on the cheap and didnt have a problem. Your best bet is to start calling up places and see if they have standard rates, then book a time to go in and have a 30minute chat with them.. work your way from there.. if you really care about your design and getting the best results you will shop around. also make sure you ask to see some previous work. This may seem pretty ovbious, but best be stated anyway. |

I can only speak highly of Westside Tattoo on Boundary st West End, lots of mates have had stuff done there always top quality.

Are you wanting something that looks traditional, or more new-school? You'd want to approach an artist that specialises in that kind of style.
If traditional, I'd recommend Luke at True Love Tattoo, or Wade/Stevie @ Wild at Heart in the city. |

shame you missed surf n ink down the goldie the other week, they had some awesome artists down there. but yeah just head into various studios and talk to the guys. all the ones guys have mentioned, westside, allstar etc. got 1 or mine done at chermside by a fella named jared, he did an awesome job, not sure if he still is there but i'll be hitting him up to do more.
alot of the lads from work go to this guy up at Caloundra, when i work next i'll ask them more about it. but they work he has done is very nice. |

Choppy, AJ or Matt are the ones to see at Dark Lotus.
Also, AllStar are no more, the shop is closing it's doors. Link (the guy who owns AllStar) is also part owner of 198 Tattoo on Wynnum Road, and Auriole from Wild At Heart now works at 198 as well, so it's all good. All the guys from True Love at Sherwood are awesome. Mez is the man though. |

I know a bloke with most of his body done and he was saying stuff like if he was going to have an eagle done then he would go to a bloke in canada cause he was renowned for animals etc |

He taught Bob Tyrell everything he knows, and Bob Tyrell is classed as one of the worlds best black and grey fantasy artists, longside Paul Booth and Guy Aitchison. |

6 Sessions in total @ $165 per session, just had my second one yesterday and even after my first I saw massive differances. They're taking pictures of it everyday and because its fading so well they're going to use me as an example for people seeking treatment. Expecting to have it completely removed in about 6 months time with no trace at all, so yep.. In closing, dont get any girls name on you unless it is your kids! |
