Ubisoft have announced some bonus content for Australians that pre-order their upcoming Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands at one of three gaming retailers. Basically you can unlock some exclusive content depending on which place you pre-order from. The pre-order content will allow for "an even more immersive experience", apparently, so if you don't want just regular levels of immersivityness, then note the following:
Consumers will be able to unlock the following in-game content if they pre-order their game at:

- EB Games: The Forgotten Arena
- JB Hi Fi: Prince Malik’s Armour
- GAME: Sand Wraith Skin
A new developer diary trailer accompanies the release, showing off some more of the in-game action and the inspiration behind the scenes. Watch or download now directly from AusGamers or stream directly below.

Wow, (Brick and Mortar) retailers are really grasping at straws these days.
They finally figure out they they're no-longer needed in the future?

I wont be able to play the full game as i'm not willing to pre-order from 3 seperate companies... I assume that it wont be too long before these bonus contents will be available for download. Legally or otherwise.

Are you guys seriously going to complain and say you cant play the "full" game because you miss out on a few EXCLUSIVE content items?

the skin is cosmetic and doesnt do anything, the armour is likely to be slightly better or even may only be cosmetic, the arena is probably some boring s***, just like the god of war 3 arenas were. None of this is actually part of the main game, so infact you're not missing out on the "full" game.

Like someone said they may even end up as DLC.

I bet all three would come with prohibitively intrusive DRM free of charge!

Ubisoft arnt the only ones who use DRM, just saying.

But DRM needs to be toned down or stopped completely,Its one of many reasons I prefer gaming on a console.

Maybe they're hoping to sucker Australians into pre-ordering it before we realise there's insanely restrictive DRM that'll chew through their internet quota and stop us from enjoying the game that we bought? I'm sure that, like all other stupid attempts at curbing piracy and forcing sales at desired stores, the pirated version will contain all the extra content without having to pre-order it (especially at certain stores) or even purchase it. The only downside with the pirated version is that it won't require a constant internet connection...oh wait.

Theres only one problem to your logic, its not coming to PC so there is no DRM.

But everything before that was said by me.

Looks ok, I like the return to the gameplay more akin to the sands of time, but I've seen better power effects on ps2. That fire effect where he runs around leaving a fire trail looked particularly woeful. Oh well, won't be buying it anyway because it's UbiSoft.
