Heroes of Newerth has finally gone retail - you can buy the game online right now at . For those who came in late:

In Heroes of Newerth, two teams of up to five players each take on the role of special Hero units. With the assistance of AI-controlled armies, each team sets out with the sole objective of destroying the other team�s base. As a match progresses, players can earn experience and gold which can be used to upgrade skills or purchase items to make their character more powerful. The team-oriented design of HoN coupled with unprecedented in-game Voice-Over-IP controls and Clan Support allow for an incredibly deep, tactical team-based experience.

There's a 360mb download for the game installer, which you can nab locally from AusGamers, but note it will auto-download another approximately 30mb to update to the latest version.

I'm pretty sure they just have a base version and then you need to download the patches through the game? well that's how it worked in the beta.

ah ok I sure on the front page they say the latest version is 1.0.0.1 then their download is 0.3.3 ... pretty lame

mmm hopefully games should improve now without the nubs who dont give a s*** what they are doing becuase they havent paid for it.

ATM online numbers are about 19,000, just over half normal, will have to wait to see how that climbs tonight and in the next few days.

Hooray, can't purchase 'cos their purchasing system is down. Has been for the last 4 hours. The forums are reporting lots of people being billed 3-4 times for the same transaction and still not being able to log in.

S*** there's continually more than that in the SCII beta.

Looks like takeup wasn't that crash hot, and the dog's a******* of a community has only itself to blame. No way I was laying down cash to dip into that cesspit.

HoN took all the crap stuff from DotA and skinned it with pretty graphics.

LoL took the concept of DotA and made a more accessible and fun game out of it.

You can beat your fan-boi chest about HoN all you want, but we'll see which game survives and thrives.

hey trog i downloaded the client twice from ausgamers and got an NSIS installer integrity check failed, seems to be missing about 10mb or so
