Bethesda have let us know update 1.2 for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has begun its roll out, today arriving for PS3 owners first. There's an ETA for Europe of Wednesday, November 30 for the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the update.

Here's what it will address on a base level:
  • Improved occasional performance issues resulting from long term play (PlayStation 3)
  • Fixed issue where textures would not properly upgrade when installed to drive (Xbox 360)
  • Fixed crash on startup when audio is set to sample rate other than 44100Hz (PC)
  • Fixed issue where projectiles did not properly fade away
  • Fixed occasional issue where a guest would arrive to the player’s wedding dead
  • Dragon corpses now clean up properly
  • Fixed rare issue where dragons would not attack
  • Fixed rare NPC sleeping animation bug
  • Fixed rare issue with dead corpses being cleared up prematurely
  • Skeleton Key will now work properly if player has no lockpicks in their inventory
  • Fixed rare issue with renaming enchanted weapons and armor
  • Fixed rare issue with dragons not properly giving souls after death
  • ESC button can now be used to exit menus (PC)
  • Fixed occasional mouse sensitivity issues (PC)
  • General functionality fixes related to remapping buttons and controls (PC)
Bethesda have also promised that they will continue to monitor forums, blog posts and news sites for other Skyrim issues to be fixed in the future.

Anyone else having any problems with any version of the game that isn't listed to be fixed above?

All of those "rare" issues, I've experienced every single one of them more than once. I don't think I'm exceptionally unlucky.

That's a very short list considering time it's taken them to get it out.

Interestingly, the only single issue I've experienced with the game is one freeze - otherwise, I haven't faced anything like I've been hearing about

I've had the dragon freezing one. He jumped on top of a dragon word stone and froze. Let me do whatever I wanted to him even refused to die when he got to 0% hp. After 10 minutes of attacking and leveling skills on him I ran away, fast traveled back and he fell over dead.

Also had the annoying as hell different mouse sensitivity bug, which is infuriating since I play with slow mouse settings but with the bug I get super duper fast up and down look while left and right stay the same.

I've been getting random crashes to desktop, but not sure if it's been fixed yet since I haven't played since last patch. That was the biggest issue I was having.

Really wish the PC version would get some dx11 love.

I was having a weird issue where windows live messenger would disconnect and skyrim would crash, not running messenger and I get no crashes.

Exactly the same here, especially the dragons not attacking issue.

Haven't had any of the issues mentioned, a couple CTD when messing with graphics settings too high for my PC but got that sorted out quick and have had a great time in the game so far.

The only reason for the messing around with the graphics settings was to try and clean up the blocky shadows that seem to flicker every minute or so in some towns, I don't notice it everywhere and it certainly hasn't bothered me enough to put a dent in my gaming.

Glanced at my Steam library list on Friday and it said 46 hours played, guess I racked up a few more over the weekend. Great experience so far :)

Good to see Bethesda getting out a patch for the people that need it though.

Good hunting!

I've had a weird one where when I'm enchanting the view will switch to 3rd person automatically and I can't exit enchanting at all, so I have to quit / reload.

There's a bug where you can't go to jail in Markarth after doing the Forlorn jail break quest line, hence you can't pay off or get rid of your bounty, and then can't do any quests there. I had to use cheats to get past the bug.

If that happens, go up to a guard, click on them in console and type "paycrimegold". Then you can pay off the bounty.

Other than that, just a few CTDs

yeh zombie wedding guests sounds like it should be left in ;D

i've had lots of random bugs but mostly i enjoy them! i had one where mammoths were spawning way up in the air & then a dragon would flame them & they would fall down on top of another mammoth & then disappear & respawn back up in the air. it was pretty funny.

the only really annoying bug i get is sometimes i get little freezes while exploring skyrim... but i think that might be my system coz a mate with a very similar system gets the same.

ESC button can now be used to exit menus (PC)

I've had tons of issues, so much so that i've stopped playing and by the looks of this measly patch ill have to wait for the next one.
The 2 biggest issues i'm having at the moment are in dungeons when there's water the screen flashes green for a split second as if the whole screen has filled with water and your character goes into the swimming animation for that split second. Because your technically swimming for a second it cancels casting and you'll miss actions like swapping weapons or spells. Extremely annoying.
The other has just cropped recently as i play a dual wield warrior ive got 2 glass swords and i have them hot keyed to 1. Because they are the same item and they stack i can press 1 twice and it puts one sword in my mainhand and one in my offhand. However, now i have upgraded my swords via grinding now they each have 'legendary' in brackets at the end of their name and now they no longer stack. Even hotkeying one sword to 1 and the other to 2 doesn't work because when you hit 1 the first sword goes to your mainhand, then you hit 2 and the second sword replaces that in your mainhand. ><

It's great, one of the guests just keels over when they teleport into the wedding ceremony location and all of the NPCs in attendance including your fiance get angry and blame it on the player.

I have a problem where the game at times just insta-closes for no apparent reason, which is always annoying. So in dungeons or long explore I tend to have to save rather frequently or blammo I lose 30 minutes of gameplay. Otherwise it runs like a dream, loads quick, not a great deal of other problems.

I have not had many issues with Skyrim. The most recent one is where I would kill a random dragon but I could not absorb its soul. It stayed intact. I feel that Beth should over-haul the UI for PC when the first bit of DLC comes out.

I had that with a dragon in the marshes north west of riften. Tried travelling there several times from several different locations but it always happened. Left it for ages in the end, and came back and it still was broken. Twas weird.

quest stuck with the Jarl in riften is a misc quest and doesnt stop you from buying the house and finishing the misc riften quests.

i get that stuck to the enchanting table thing too, bit of a button mash and 15 seconds of waiting it just pops back

Are you running a Large Address Aware mod? If not, that could be the cause of crashing. Skyrim only runs maximum 2GB RAM, which could be the cause of the crashing.

Download this mod, will allow 4GB+:

Use my .exe if it crashes a heap afterwards, that's Steams fault, update before this one made it so the game had to run through Steam, and didn't play nice with mods:

Afterwards, use this guide to help tweak ini settings and make everything look good and work well!
