Pokémon has been a staple franchise for the Game Boy consoles since the very early inception of the Nintendo handheld, and today the company has announced a release date for the very first sequels in the franchise, Pokémon Black and White Version 2.
Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 will also give fans of the original games a chance to catch up with some familiar friends. In this game, Cheren and Bianca return two years after the events of Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version, and a lot has changed.

Bianca is now the assistant to Professor Juniper, helping her with Pokémon research and Cheren is now a Gym Leader and a teacher at a school in Aspertia City – the starting location for this adventure.
Pokémon Black and White Version 2 are also sporting some new designs, with a big addition that will allow players to capture Pokémon from outside the Unova region − such as Eevee, Riolu, Tyranitar, Arcanine and Mareep− right from the start of the game.

While the new Pokémon version are being developed on the DS, 3DS owners will be able to interact with the environment with a new title called Pokémon Dream Radar. This new title will allows 3DS owners to catch their favourite Pokémon, including some very rare ones, via the Nintendo 3DS cameras, using motion control and augmented-reality technology and transfer them into Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2.

Pokémon Black Version 2, Pokémon White Version 2 and Pokémon Dream Radar will all be available on October 12th for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS.

I have Pokemon Black
and I cant seem to get started in it. It doesnt make you feel like you need to continue in the game unlike the first series pokemon, Pokemon Yellow gave you a feelign of accomplishment everytiem you played it.

Its probably just me because i have had no intrest in pokemon after gold.

I finished all the pokemons multiple times, they're the ultimate procrastination games, but couldn't bring myself to finish black & white. The world is like some industrial wasteland, and the plot though starting interesting quickly goes to s***. The new designs weren't so bad, but overall I think that gen 4 and 5 were a failure. Gen III 4 lyfe.

Black was the first Pokemon game I'd played and finished in years.

Having said that though, I'm not terrible excited for B/W2. I may still get it, but I'm a little disappointed that it's not a 3DS game. Hopefully there'll be a proper 3DS game soon.

So what you're saying Nerfy is that you haven't actually finished all the Pokemon games. :)

Also I don't know what you guys are talkin' about, B/W has the best story compared to Gen 3 and 4 in my opinion!

Oh you're right, I guess not... Well, I still reckon that Ruby/Sapphire had the best world / music / progression / enemies / story. I mean there were treetop cities, and volcano cities, and water cities, and... stuff!

Look at all the pretties -

I am playing Pokemon fire red on my GBA SP at the moment. Wish they left in the bugs and glitches that was in original pkm RED. I am up to the elite 4, battleing them for exp and money. This is the first time in.....a decade that I have gotten that far into a pokemon game.

In terms of pokemon, Gen 1 is the best and gen 2 is OK. After this the pokemon get stupid looking mostly, there are a few cool ones though. In terms of game design, each gen has improved upon the last. eg. in the original RBY you had to manually activate a bike or fishing rod from the menu every time. Newer games you can just link it to your select button. I would personally like to see a special edition remake of Pokemon Yellow with the B/W2 look and feel and new game mechanics.

I generally disagree with how people think pokemon get more stupid looking as the generation goes on. Like, if Voltorb didn't exist in gen 1 and he was introduced in gen 5 he would be pinned as the "Proof of lack of imagination".

One thing though, about how stupid some pokemon look, the first bird pokemon in each gen just keeps getting closer and closer to looking like an IRL pigeon. :P

All the generations had some stupid designs, but there seems to be a fair few overly simple ones in the newer generations, a few good ones too (the fire starter in the newest generation is absolutely atrocious the whole way through imo, and not to mention that frikkin woobat). Overall it was just nice when you could remember which was which... Here's a handy dandy appeals-to-your-inner-twelve-year-old visual list of them all: http://pokemondb.net/pokedex/national

The designs haven't gotten any better or worse. Look at Jynx, ffs.

I really liked Black and White. In fact, I'd say it'd be my favorite generation so far. Some really good pokemon. It's great having a completely new set of mons. Was getting sick of a handful of new ones, plus old ones thrown in (AND ALWAYS PIKACHU! F*****g hate that mon)

I really liked Black and White.

I assume you mean Pokemon Black and Pokemon White. Cos Black and White was pretty cool too ;)

Hells yes Black & White was pretty good. I actually suggested a ton of features which made it into Black & White 2, but they were all s*** and I'm fairly sure I'm responsible for partially ruining the game.

Gen 5 starers http://gamergazette.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/pokemon_gen5starters1.png

The grass and water type make me sad. The fire pig seems ok to me. They seem to make the pokemon less and less like monsters and more like funny/fuzzy animals. Every gen has is s*** pokemon ofcorse, Jynx, Mr.Mime, Jigglypuff, Clefairy for Gen1. I want the MONSTER back. I would kill for a pokemon clone but with undead, ghosts, demons, monsters, that would be awesome. Could not hurt to have some more RPG elements too, like Golden Sun or FF.

Really? I can't stand the fire pig, think that the grass one is awesome, and thought that the water one is good once it evolves past that s***** first stage.

I hated the grass one, love the pig and the water one.

Why are you guys being wrong? :/

Well, I think that we can all at least agree that Mr Mime and Jynx are abysmal.

Krookodile was the best B&W mon. The icecream was the worst.

Can you guys stop picking on Oshawott? He's clearly the best in all 3 stages. :)

Black & White was the bomb.

As for Pokémon, I played Ruby not too long ago and I loved it and I was around 10 when Red/Blue were just released.
