Steel Wool Games is made up of five current Pixar artists that decided to take their combined 60 years of experience, passion and creativity to start their own independent games studio. The team haven’t given up their day jobs but burn the candle at both ends working on movies during the day and games at night.
Steel Wool will be developing games on multi platforms and using their story telling, animation, technical and artistic talents to create new and innovative game worlds.
The studio has also revealed their first title, Flyhunter. The title will revolve around a "grimsical" art style as stated by one of the co-founder, Andrew Dayton, who revealed that “it’s our fundamental principle as a company. We create worlds that are funny and whimsical but dipped in gritty tones.” Flyhunter is expected later this year, however no platforms have been announced yet.
