Popular MOBA League of Legends will soon be getting a revamped Summoner's Rift map, and according to a company representative speaking with Polygon, the new map will benefit the game in running faster and smoother on PC.

According to Polygon, the new map features 1/8 the number of polygons found in the current map, which directly affects the map's performance on computers and benefitting all who play. Players on the the more lower-end machines will most likely benefit the most, Riot stated.

The revamped map was revealed earlier this month, with Riot focusing heavily on drawing the player's attention to the most important information on the map in the moment of play, such as breakout fights, particle effects and more. Riot also noted that jungle changes will be coming in this map update including new monsters that are "sporting designs that more accurately reflect their respective gameplay characteristics."
