One of the most visually impressive games of its time, Outcast was also one of the first open-world games when it debuted in 1999. Outcast creators Yves Grolet, Yann Robert and Franck Sauer, acquired the rights to the game and franchise in 2013. And after a failed Kickstarter, their studio Appeal re-released the original game with a number of improvements. Since then Appeal has partnered with Bigben Interactive, with Outcast: Second Contact set to be released in March 2017.
