And we say oddity because the triumphant return of the Final Fantasy franchise to a Nintendo platform after the '90s and the 32-bit Final Fantasy VII era was a co-op game that required not only a GameCube but up to four Game Boy Advance handhelds to use as controllers/second screens. So yeah, that barrier for entry limited the number of potential players.
But, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles was well received critically in 2004 - with plans now to remaster the game for both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
We're not sure how the multiplayer will work this time around, perhaps some sort of split-screen division. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will be out sometime next year.
