Which was in the works at once stage with Blind Squirrel Games at the helm. The studio which worked on the BioShock Collection for 2K in addition to Borderlands Enhanced was putting together a remastered collection of the first three Mortal Kombat games. The revelation came via page, which has since been archived, from one of the UI and effects artists.

And although it mostly showcases menus and what looks to be a direction that would have introduced online and progression mechanics, it also highlights that the 2D art from the original was going to be recreated in HD.





Getting a remastered collection of the original Mortal Kombat games would have been pretty cool - if only to see all of the art and live-action-to-sprite animation touched up. Needless to say, there's no shortage of Mortal Kombat love at the moment with Mortal Kombat 11 set to launch next week on April 23.
