With the multiplayer PvP arena game available to play right now via Steam Early Access. Brimstone Brawlers is set in a Lovecraft-inspired Victorian fantasy world, one where the vibrant art-style and isometric viewpoint reminds us a bit of Torchlight. With Brisbane developer Christopher ‘Ategig’ Galea working on the game for over two years, the results speak for themselves.

Here's the Early Access launch trailer.

Brimstone Brawlers is an action-packed multiplayer arena brawler set within the dark, grime filled streets of industrial Brimstone. Recent turmoil has erupted into explosive battles between peculiar characters, each with a unique skill set and a reason to fight. Choose your favourite brawler to fight your friends, throwing punches, bombs, spells… and shade!

"It is very exciting to finally share the game with the world," said Christopher Galea, Lead Developer for Brimstone Brawlers. "During the Alpha Testing phase the game has really resonated well with our community. We have had many players comparing Brimstone Brawlers to a chaotic couch version of Battlerite or even the GameCube gem Powerstone but with online features. So it really feels like Brimstone Brawlers is filling a void in the player vs player arena genre. We believe people will enjoy playing the game now and will be excited for all the upcoming features and additional content added during Early Access.”

Powerstone! Now that brings back memories. Even in its Early Access state Brimstone Brawlers looks to be fairly polished - offering up 12 varied character or brawlers to control across 8 varied interactive maps in a number of different modes. So if you're on the hunt for some fun same-room couch co-op action (online play is also supported) - then be sure to check it out.
