Over the weekend D&D Live 2020 took place in a celebration of all this dice and character sheet related. As part of the event Larian Studios president Swen Vincke was on hand to present a very sizable chunk of the highly anticipated RPG - Baldur's Gate 3.

At well over an hour it's our most in-depth look at the game to date - and the scope and size of its definitely comes through. Throughout the presentation we see a number of different quests completed in addition to several combat encounters.

No doubt this is very different to the Baldur's Gate titles from BioWare, and the turn-based stuff looks very cool - if a little familiar. Based on the info we get here it's also continuously evolving. So far early criticism from longtime Baldur's fans is that it looks and feel more like Divinity than classic D&D. Which makes the planned 2020 Early Access release something we're not quite sure about - as we'd love to experience this in all its 1.0 glory. The story, characters, and voice acting are all impressive though -- so odds are we'll be there day one.

Of course this was only a small part of the Dungeons & Dragons goodies we got over the weekend - for the full D&D Live 2020 wrap, head here.
