The Star Ocean series is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and with only six mainline games in the series since its debut on the Super Nintendo back in 1996 this is definitely something fans will take note of. It's also the first new Star Ocean since 2016, with Star Ocean The Divine Force looking to present more JRPG meets space opera action.

And with that you've got a character driven story, lots of spaceships and robots, and the series' traditional blend of high-fantasy elements and worlds to explore. This time though combat is entirely real-time with traversal made quick and easy thanks to a jet pack.



Star Ocean The Divine Force is developed by Square Enix and tri-Ace, and is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2022.
